Gabriel Picolo illustrated his sketchbooks with text and drawings that merge the imaginary contents of a magical manual with touching moments from the story. I want to get one and try practicing magic for a spell.

“For my drawings I take inspiration from Studio Ghibli, Disney, video games among other stuff,” Picolo writes on Patreon. “I love to draw something that is relatable to me and other people as well. It may be a complex doodle about feelings or an eye candy fan art but what I love the most is the connection I create with who’s seeing my work.” Picolo is a freelancer artist and illustrator from Brazil who also goes by “Picolo-kun”

Flowing Swarms of Animals on Urban Walls by Pantonio

Portuguese street artist Antonio Correia aka Pantonio depicts fluid swarms of fish, birds, and other creatures as they interweave dramatically on the sides of buildings. His use of black and blue paint to form sinuous lines evoking water or muscle lends a distinct sense of motion to each piece as it cascades several stories down the sides of a building or through a room. The Lisbon-based artist often portrays creatures found in the Tagus river that flows through Portugal including sardines, cod, octopus, as well as ropes and boats. 3D Calligraphy Experiments by Tolga Girgin

Turkish graphic designer and electrical engineer Tolga Girgin continues to experiment with calligraphy that seems to jump off the page. Fancy Features, the artist group that brought the world 'giant coloring in', has released a range of canvas prints so that everyone can make their own stunning wall art by coloring it with artist's acrylic paint pens.

Inserting Pop Culture into Old Thrift Store Paintings

Dave Pollot is a painter in the US who brings new life to old and forgotten thrift store paintings by adding pop culture characters. He uses these old paintings to combine his interest in painting with his love for pop culture.

“Before I began repurposing discarded thrift art, I painted more ‘serious’ architectural paintings and landscapes,” writes Pollot on his website. “While I loved this, I found that I got bored very quickly (which resulted in about three completed paintings a year). Bringing new life to old art, though, brings interesting challenges with each new piece. I try to make my ‘additions’ (which are often references to and parodies of my favorite movies and video games) look as though they were there the entire time. With a world so full of serious questions, I’m just trying to let viewers laugh as they construct their own narrative from some new oil paint humorously added to some old, neglected bit of Americana.”
